A B O U T

I am a textile artist specialising in regenerative textile processes, driven by the urgent need for ecologically conscious design in response to the climate crisis. My work emphasises circular, holistic design, focusing on tier 4 of the textile supply chain—plant-based raw materials. In an effort to move away from the social and environmental pressures of the global cotton industry, my artwork celebrates the potential of cellulose fibres such as flax, hemp, and nettle, promoting design choices that respect planetary boundaries.

Originally from the beautiful English Lake District, the natural environment has always been a source of inspiration for my creative practice. I am captivated by the slow, meditative process of plant fibre processing and the textural properties of raw plant materials. Exploring their delicate yet strong cellulose fibres fuels my curiosity and drives my work. I have harvested and processed cotton in Rajasthan, hemp in Suffolk, and nettles from my own garden, gaining a deep appreciation for the diversity and potential applications of natural materials.

My practice draws inspiration from ancient crafts, horticultural movements, and permaculture, aligning with sustainable, natural systems. I explore the intersection of art, design, ecology, and holistic anthropology, seeking to create work that not only reflects but also contributes to a more regenerative and conscious world.
